Team Lead, Technical Operator

Location: Sorrento Valley, CA 92121

Hours: 2^nd Shift Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Pay: $29.15/hr

An industry leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a skilled Team Lead to join their team. The Team Lead, Technical Operator is a hands-on production leader responsible for operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment while providing daily direction and support to a team of Technical Operators. This role ensures production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong machine operation experience, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities and coordinate workflow to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Operate, set up, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Train, coach, and support Technical Operators on equipment, processes, safety, and quality requirements.
• Monitor team performance and provide guidance to ensure productivity and compliance goals are met.
• Identify and escalate equipment, process, and quality issues while supporting corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, GDP, SOPs, FDA regulations, and company policies.
• Complete and review production documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to support operational efficiency.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• 5+ years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring employees.
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities.
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, FDA, and ISO requirements.
• Ability to prioritize work and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
